Editorial Reviews

Review

From the reviews: At times the broad mandate of this book prevents the author from taking an in-depth view of his subject matter; … [o]verall, however, this is an eloquent, quotable, and inspirational book that provides a template for "Achieving Excellence in Medical Education." (Gerald D Denton, JAMA, 2006; 296(9): 1143) This is a valuable book for medical educators. The chapter on the theoretical insights into medical education is particularly thorough and relevant. While not a recipe book for how to incorporate best practices into medical education, it does serve as a catalyst for further discussion on both the definition of excellence in medical education and how to best prepare our students, faculty, and organizations to shape the future of excellence in healthcare.
